RICHARD D. HUGHES
Richard D. Hughes, President of the Hughes Law Firm, P.C., specializes in the areas of estate planning, elder law, Medicaid, probate and disability law. Mr. Hughes received a Bachelor of Science degree from Indiana University in 1968 and a Juris Doctorate degree from the University of Denver College of Law in 1972. He is a member of the Colorado Bar Association, the American Bar Association, The Elder Law and Trusts and Estates Sections of the Colorado Bar Association, The Rocky Mountain Estate Planning Council and the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys. Mr. Hughes is a frequent lecturer on the topics of probate, trusts, and tax, disability and Medicaid planning. Active in the Colorado credit union industry, Mr. Hughes was a founder and past president of Members Mortgage Corporation and assisted in the design and creation of a credit union owned trust company, Members Trust Company of Colorado. Mr. Hughes served on the Board of Directors of Members Mortgage Corp. and Liberty Savings Bank.
CHRISTINA C. BROESKE
Christina C. Broeske, as Associate Attorney with the firm, specializes in the areas of estate planning, asset protection planning, probate and estate administration, guardianships and conservatorships, Medicaid and disability planning, elder law, and tax law. After graduating Magna Cum Laude from the University of North Texas with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Finance, she maintained a successful law school career at the University of Denver College of Law, earning special honors for her performance in tax law. In addition to the areas of specialization listed above, Ms. Broeske has also amassed experience in the areas of commercial law and business transactions, corporate formation and governance, real estate and contract law. Her ability to focus on clients needs, attention to detail, professional integrity and compassionate yet zealous advocacy of her clients allow her to provide her clients with exceptional service. She is licensed to practice law in Colorado and Wyoming, in addition to United States District Court. She is a member of the Arapahoe County Bar Association; the Colorado Bar Association, Trusts and Estates Section; the Wyoming Bar Association; and the American Bar Association, Real Property, Probate and Trusts Section.
WILLIAM L. CARPENTER
William L. Carpenter, as Associate Attorney with the firm, specializes in the areas of estate planning, probate and estate administration, asset protection planning, Medicaid and disability planning, and elder law. Mr. Carpenter graduated from the University of Washington in Seattle with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in 1974. He then earned his Juris Doctorate at the University of Colorado School of Law, where he was awarded the American Jurisprudence Award for excellent academic achievement in estate planning. Mr. Carpenter was admitted to practice law in Colorado in 1977. He served as a Deputy District Attorney in Jefferson County and Otero County, Colorado for four years, during which time he lead in the prosecution of several high profile cases. He entered the private practice of law in 1982 and has been specializing in offering clients experienced and intelligent advice in the areas of estate planning, probate and elder law. Mr. Carpenter's wit, experience, compassion and dedication to his clients have allowed him to truly distinguish himself within the legal community. Mr. Carpenter is a member of the Colorado Bar Association.
LAURIE D. WERT
Laurie D. Wert, as Associate Attorney with the firm, specializes in the areas of estate planning, probate and estate administration, asset protection planning, Medicaid and disability planning, and elder law. She attended the University of Denver where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree, a Juris Doctorate and a Master of Laws in Taxation, completing her final degree in 1999. Ms. Wert is a member of the American Bar Association and the Colorado Bar Association.
